Jeoldusan Martyrs' Site

If you took line 2 to come Hongik Univ. Station, you may seen this strange looking building from on way of Dangsan Station to Hapjeong Station (view towards Han River). It kind of look like a cliff because of its color, and quite hard to tell what exactly it is from far away.

It is actually a religious site named Jeoldusan Martyrs' Site (절두산순교성지).

I found this unique stair accidentally in Hapjeong as I took a walk with a friend. So we decided to go up and do some adventures to see what's out there.

I believe because it's religious site, it wasn't crowded at all and the environment was very calm and peaceful.

Many Catholics were execute by beheading just because they believe in the God during religion suppression back in early Korean history. So it's not only martyrs' site but also a historical site.

It's located at near Hapjeong Station : Take line 2 at Hongik Univ. Station and off at Hapjeong Station then exit 7. Or either you can walk from Hongik Univ. Station :)
